Recently the Balkan countries had suffered great catastrophes. Serbia,Croatia,Bosnia are in mourning.As citizen of Serbia i feel the need to help my fellow citizens however i can and inform the public about the unfortunate events.
The large amount of rainfall, which found to match to the three-month quantity of rainfall,in the past few weeks the level of the river Sava was significantly raised. This has led to the catastrophic flooding which has never been seen before. Villages and cities along the river were flooded overnight and thousands of people have lost their homes, belongings and everything else they worked for their entire lives. More than a thousand people were evacuated and relocated in reception centers in Belgrade. Rescue teams work round the clock to rescue and evacuate the people from flooded areas. River flooding caused more than 3.000 landslides due to which people are killed. The exact number of missing persons and material damage are not known yet,and will be after withdrawal of the river. Volunteers of all ages have signed up to help at the reception centers,people are working around the clock to raise the sand embankment which will protect their cities from the upcoming floods.People are donating money, clothes,medicines and food to the people who had lost everything, even their own families.
